Why

E-bikes make sense for Acadia

Leave the car behind and feel the wind. Electric power means less effort, more distance, and more time enjoying what you came for.

Gravel path stretches straight through a dense green forest with tall trees on both sides.

Clean travel through wild country

No emissions, just you, the landscape, and the ocean air.

Reach trails you thought were too far

The PAS (Pedal Assist System) handles the hard work so your legs don't have to work so hard.

Ride at your own pace, beginner friendly

Built simple enough for beginners, capable enough for experienced riders.

Rent with these guys -- I spent way too long researching various competing Acadia ebike companies and was very glad we went with Acadia Royal. We met at Hulls Cove Visitor Center (but they'll drop off anywhere) -- bikes were in good shape and the batteries lasted all day (we did 32 miles!). Can't imagine a better way to kick off a visit to Acadia.

Questions

Browse common questions about our e-bikes and vacation lodges

How fast and how far can We ride?

All e-bikes rented from Acadia Royal E-bike Rental are Class 1 e-bikes. Class 1 e-bikes are defined as: “an electric bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.” By law is the only form of E bike allowed in Acadia National park the more you pedal the less work the motor needs to do so you can go far. Please refer to nps.gov for additional information if needed.

Do you have regular bikes?

All our bicycles are “hybrids” – they are a bicycle with an electric motor – you can choose to ride without the pedal assist on at all, or with the pedal assist for the best eBike riding experience. You and your crew will get as much (or as little) exercise as you want!
